The war in Sudan broke out in April 2023 between the army, led by General Abdel Fattah al-Burhane, and the RSF paramilitaries, led by his former deputy, General Mohamed Hamdane Daglo.
The war has killed at least 30,000 people, according to the Sudanese Medical Union, and displaced more than 10 million people, internally and externally, causing the worst wave of displacement in the world, according to the UN.
