The Angolan Attorney General (PGR) said today in Luanda that the Angolan authorities are still waiting for businesswoman Isabel dos Santos to be notified in Dubai about the charges against her.
Hélder Pitta Groz said that they are still waiting for responses to some of the requests made to the Dubai authorities, in statements to the press on the sidelines of the launch of the Action Manual against Human Trafficking for professionals in the Angolan criminal justice system.
According to the Angolan PGR, this "is the fundamental step" to move forward with the case against Isabel dos Santos, daughter of the former President of Angola, José Eduardo dos Santos.
Isabel dos Santos, who has lived outside Angola for several years, is accused of 12 crimes in a case involving her management of the state oil company Sonangol between 2016 and 2017.
Regarding the case of the former Vice-President of Angola, Manuel Vicente, Hélder Pitta Groz said that the PGR is continuing to work on it.
"I believe we are on the right track and we will have some answers in a while," he stressed.
The PGR stressed that, when international cooperation is requested, responses must be awaited.
