A 13-year-old child is in critical condition after being trapped in the purifier grille of a swimming pool in Alcalá de Henares, on the outskirts of Madrid, in Spain.
The accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, according to Cadena SER, in the swimming pool of a private urbanization located on Avenida Miguel de Unamuno.
After becoming trapped, and once the water treatment system was turned off, the boy was removed from the pool, at which point he suffered a cardiorespiratory arrest.
Firefighters and police carried out resuscitation maneuvers until the arrival of paramedics from Summa 112, who continued the effort. After eight minutes, the boy stabilized and was transferred by helicopter to La Paz Hospital, where he was admitted in critical condition.
