Japan's National Institute of Information and Communication Technology has managed to set a new Internet speed record, reaching a data transfer speed of 402Tbps.
According to the PC Gamer website, this speed is 25% faster than the previous record set in October last year and, to put it in perspective, it's enough to download a game like 'Red Dead Redemption 2' (with 120Gb) in just 2.4 milliseconds.
It should be noted, however, that no current commercial equipment can support this type of transfer speed, with motherboards, Ethernet inputs and SSD disks not yet at this level.
However, it is good to see that these speeds are in fact achievable and that, once the technical limitations are removed, we will be able to live in a world where data and information will be exchanged in a (much) faster way.
