A teacher who was leading a themed class where a knife attack was carried out on Monday in Southport, northwest England, is one of the adults injured in the incident and is fighting for her life.

The teacher was attacked while trying to protect children attending the dance class. It is worth remembering that two children died and nine others were injured, six of them seriously, in the attack. In addition to the teacher, another adult was also injured.

Tributes have been paid to Leanne Lucas, who is 35 and the manager of Enlighten with Leanne, the yoga studio that was the target of the incident. It is believed that a co-organizer of the event was also injured.

Police have previously said that the adults were injured while "bravely" trying to protect the children from the attack. Both are in a critical condition.

A 17-year-old boy from a nearby area has been arrested by police on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

The children were reportedly taking part in an event inspired by American artist Taylor Swift when the suspect entered armed with a knife and began attacking the children.
