A newborn baby girl was found "in a good state of health" inside the bathroom of a supermarket in Castelló de la Plana, in the Spanish community of Valencia, on Saturday afternoon. The parents have already been located and arrested.
According to La Vanguardia, which quotes police sources, the child's parents were arrested on Sunday after the National Police opened an investigation and analyzed the footage from the site's video surveillance cameras.
The alarm was raised at 12pm on Saturday (11am in Lisbon) and a medical team was sent to the scene to provide the baby with initial care.
The girl was later admitted to the Pediatrics Department of the General Hospital of Castellón "in good health" and will remain in a Neonatology Unit for "observation and assessment of her clinical evolution".
The child's guardianship has been handed over to the social services, who have already said that the girl will be given to a foster family on Monday.
