After a year 2023 full of awards, ‘Baldur's Gate III’ has once again received another honour for the narrative created by Larian Studios.

The latest honour is a Hugo Award and was presented by the World Science Fiction Convention (WSFC) in the category of Best Game or Interactive Work. The ceremony took place in Glasgow, Scotland and ‘Baldur's Gate III’ beat other contenders such as ‘The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom’, ‘Alan Wake II’ and ‘Star Wars Jedi: Survivor'.

‘I'm very grateful to them for creating this award and this category. Video game writing is often underrated,’ said Larian Studios founder Swen Vincke.

‘It's very, very, very hard work. For ‘Baldur's Gate III’ we had to create over 174 hours of cinematic sequences just to be able to respect the players' choices and ensure that each of them had an emotional story that reflected their choices and agency.’
