Two adults and three children from the same family were shot dead on Monday at a home on the outskirts of Seattle, in the northwestern state of Washington, with a teenager being arrested on suspicion of being the alleged perpetrator.
According to the King County Sheriff's Office, a teenager also had to be hospitalized due to the shooting that occurred on Monday night at his home, located in the city of Fall City.
Authorities did not disclose the circumstances in which the shots were fired, nor any details of the minor arrested, who will be presented in court in the next few hours, nor did they say whether there was any family relationship between the teenager and the victims.
The detainee could face charges of first or second degree murder, said Sheriff Mike Mellis, who said in a press conference that when officers arrived at the home after a call reporting a shooting they found "chaos".
"There was no significant confrontation with the suspect who was taken into custody," Mellis said.
