After being approached and searched, the buyer confessed to being Andy Kerbrat, LFI deputy for the Loire-Atlantique department. In his possession he had 1.35 grams of the synthetic drug 3-MMC. One gram of 3-MMC and R$200 in cash were seized from the seller, a young underage man.
The minor was presented to court and placed in pre-trial detention and the deputy will be charged with drug use and ordered to appear in court, Le Figaro said.
In a statement, published on the social network
"My close circle of friends, my parliamentary team and my political family unfortunately became aware of the facts through 'revelations' in the far-right newspaper Valeurs actuelles, before I could inform them directly. This fact raises yet another question about the relationship between police sources and the far-right media", he criticized.
"In view of my personal problems and my psychological fragility, I may have consumed synthetic drugs and I am fully aware of their effects on my health, particularly mine. In addition to me, drug addiction is a public health problem and should be treated as ", he said, adding that he fights "this battle with other victims of drug addiction".
He also added that he will "follow a treatment protocol", which will allow him to "resume parliamentary activity".
