A man died and 15 people were injured in a collision between two passenger trains in Wales, British transport police announced today.
The accident between the two trains occurred at low speed on Monday evening near the village of Llanbrynmair in mid Wales.
"Sadly, we can confirm that one man has died as a result of this evening's accident," said Commissioner Andrew Morgan of the British Transport Police.
The people taken to hospital do not appear to have suffered serious injuries.
Transportation police are working to "understand the circumstances that led to this collision," Morgan said.
