Three people, including a child, were killed in the Sumi region of northeastern Ukraine in a drone strike by Russian troops that hit a house in a residential area, local authorities said today.

"As a result of the impact of enemy drones on a house in the center of the region, three people died, including a child," the Ukrainian regional military administration said on the social network Telegram.

According to the Ukrainian air force, Russia launched 60 Iranian Shahed drones and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles against Ukrainian territory last night, of which the Ukrainian army shot down 42, most of them over the Sumi region.

Another 10 Russian 'drones' were shot down by electronic interference by Ukrainian forces.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022.
