The Israeli army today designated ten locations in southern Lebanon that mark the area where Lebanese are banned from traveling, in a new warning following the 60-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah.

"It is prohibited to move south of the demarcation line in and around the following localities, as well as within the localities themselves: Shebaa, Al-Habbariyeh, Marjayoun, Arnoun, Yahmar, Al-Qantara, Shaqra, Bara'shit, Yater, Al-Mansouri", declared Adraee.

From the first hours after the ceasefire came into effect on Wednesday, the roads leading to the south and east of the country were filled with families returning to the most affected regions, with 1.2 million people displaced. by the conflict.

The warning comes in the wake of an appeal launched by the Lebanese army on Wednesday, which asked the country's citizens to wait to return home.

The 60-day ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon, which began on Wednesday, will have three phases: an initial truce, followed by the withdrawal of forces from the Shiite group Hezbollah north of the Litani River; the total withdrawal of Israeli troops from southern Lebanon in 60 days and, finally, negotiations between the two countries to delimit the border, which currently corresponds to a line drawn by the UN after the 2006 war.

Since the start of hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah on October 8, 2023, the day after the start of the war in the Gaza Strip following Hamas' attack on Israel, more than 3,800 people have died and more than 15,800 have been injured in Israeli attacks in Lebanon.

The vast majority of deaths, around 3,100, have occurred since the start of Israel's massive bombing campaign on September 23, which has mainly affected communities in southern and eastern Lebanon, as well as the southern suburbs of Beirut known as Dahye.
