Google is the latest 'involved' in the case of Luigi Mangione, the alleged perpetrator of the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO, Brian Thompson, in the USA.

After it was revealed that Mangione visited a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, and that a worker there was responsible for reporting to the police that led to his arrest, internet users began to 'bombard' this fast-food chain restaurant with bad reviews.

Given the empathy that Mangione has provoked among Internet users and the unpopularity of some US healthcare providers, many Internet users decided to be outraged by the complaint made by the worker in question. In this way, this restaurant in Altoona has become a ‘target’ to hit in the digital space.

Thus, Google was forced to remove the bad reviews, pointing to a violation of the company's policies.

In explanations to CBS News, Google notes that these reviews “are not based on real experiences and do not accurately represent the location and product in question.”
