World sport is mourning the death of Ágnes Keleti, a Holocaust survivor who held the title of oldest living Olympic medal winner, at the age of 103.

According to information provided by the Associated Press news agency, the Hungarian 'legend' had been in a hospital in Budapest since December 25, in serious condition due to pneumonia, which she had contracted and was unable to resist.

In all, Ágnes Keleti won ten Olympic medals in gymnastics, five of which were gold, in 1952 in Helsinki and 1956 in Melbourne, after her career had been interrupted by the Second World War.

In 1941, she was removed from the national team because of her Jewish ancestry. At the time, she took refuge in the Hungarian countryside, where she ended up surviving the Holocaust by using a false identity and working as a maid.
