A boy was sentenced to 25 years in prison for having, at the age of 14, entered the home of an elderly woman at night and sexually abused her, in Marion County, Florida.
Jesse Stone was sentenced last Friday, February 7, having been tried as an adult. He was charged with rape and burglary, according to documents seen by the Miami Herald.
The young man allegedly entered the house of his neighbor, who knew him and treated him well, and covered his face with a pillow so that he could not identify her.
"It's fortunate that she's still alive under these circumstances," the judge said.
Jesse's attorney stressed his client's deep regret for the transgression and drew attention to his impressive academic record to suggest Stone should be considered for sex offender therapy.
