At least one person died and three were injured after two corporate jets collided at Scottsdale Airport in Arizona, United States, on Monday.

According to ABC News, which cites the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a Bombardier Learjet veered off the runway during landing and crashed into a private jet that was parked at the airport.

Scottsdale firefighters said during a press conference that the victim died due to the impact, while the three injured were transported to a local hospital.

There is still a person trapped in one of the planes with firefighters saying they are "doing everything" to "remove and save him." The Federal Aviation Administration said it did not know how many people were on board.

The incident occurred at 2:30 pm (local time) on runway 21, the airport said on social media.

The Federal Aviation Administration will investigate what caused the incident.
