The former Arkansas police officer who brutally beat a detainee has been sentenced to 30 days in jail and 90 under monitored home confinement.
Joseph Tucker Harris, 29, pleaded guilty to felony and misdemeanor charges for beating a handcuffed inmate in August 2024.
Billy Lee Coram was being transferred from a hospital to jail. Harris was fired by the Jonesboro Police Department and arrested by Arkansas State Police on Jan. 21, 2025.
Craighead County Circuit Court sentenced him to 120 days, with 30 in jail and 90 under monitored home confinement, plus 48 months of probation.
