Cudahy, Wisconsin — Darlene Adam, 89, faces felony hit-and-run charges after allegedly striking a 9-year-old girl in a crosswalk near J.E. Jones Elementary School on October 28.
The victim was walking when she was struck; the driver continued moving and reported she thought she hit a rock. The girl sustained a concussion and injuries but returned to school a few days later.
Adam was later located two blocks away at a hospital and told police she didn’t realize she had hit a child.
She surrendered her license and faces up to nine months in jail if convicted.
