Lerato Molwelang has issued an official notice to the public following the circulation of a video widely described as X rated involving her that has spread widely across online platforms.
In her statement, Molwelang confirms that she is the individual seen in the footage but says she was exploited and misled by a casting agency.
She maintains that she did not sign any agreement or contract consenting to the lawful production, distribution or monetisation of the video, and that she did not give informed consent for how the content has been used or shared.
Molwelang warned that any further sharing, reposting, editing or monetisation of the video is unauthorised and said legal action will be taken against any individual, page or entity that continues to circulate it.
She also addressed the circulation of a Facebook account claiming to belong to her, stating that the account does not belong to her and that she is not affiliated with it.
Molwelang clarified that she only operates her official Facebook account and her official Instagram account, adding that any information or content shared outside of these platforms should be regarded as false and misleading.
Her statement comes amid intense public discussion and online reactions surrounding the video, as she moves to assert her legal position and halt further distribution of the content.
