Second time lucky for beauty queen Matapa Maila. After her messy breakup with her ex-husband, Maila is set to walk down the aisle again.
Last year, the beauty queen shocked the nation when she announced her pregnancy. MDN News has learned that she has managed to keep the identity of her baby’s father a secret.
MDN can confirm that her fiancé has sent a delegation to meet her family.
According to a source close to the situation, Matapa is over the moon and can’t wait to become a Mrs. again, especially after her previous failed marriage. The source added that she has decided to keep her fiancé away from the prying eyes of the media, particularly after what happened with her ex-husband.
“She has decided to keep him a secret until she walks down the aisle,” said the source.
Another source revealed that she is likely to have a summer wedding. MDN can also confirm that the two families have already met.
“They will start with the traditional ceremonies first, followed by the white wedding in Cape Town. She has found a good man who loves children. I think for Matapa, leaving her previous marriage was a blessing in disguise. She’s happy and glowing,” added the source.
Matapa and her fiancé have a two-year-old child together.
Matapa was previously married to businessman Douglas Rikhotso, and they have a 10-year-old daughter, Rifuwo. The couple divorced a few years ago amidst cheating allegations.
Highly accomplished, Matapa holds four degrees, including an MBA. She was crowned Miss Earth South Africa 2008, Mrs South Africa 2018, and was first runner-up in the Mrs World 2019 competition.
When contacted for comment, Matapa declined, stating: “My life is very personal and private, so please…” before hanging up.
