Three out of three. In the final game of group B, Spain beat Albania 1-0 in Dusseldorf on Monday, achieving a record of three wins in the group stage - all without conceding a goal - and eliminating the Albanians from Euro'2024.
The truth is that the game was settled as early as the 12th minute, when Ferrán Torres took advantage of a pass from Dani Olmo to open the scoring, leaving the opposition without much of a reaction, at least until half-time.
With ex-Benfica player Grimaldo (making his European debut) on the pitch, the Spaniards slowed down in the second half and allowed Albania, who were 'desperate' in their search for an equalizer, to come close. However, the result remained unchanged until the final whistle.
With this result, Spain finish top of Group B with nine points out of a possible nine, thanks to five goals scored and none conceded, while Albania have just one point, in last place, and are out of the competition taking place in Germany.
