The number of children who have died following a knife attack on Monday at a Taylor Swift-inspired yoga and dance class in Southport, England, has risen to three.

The information was confirmed by the police in a statement sent to British newsrooms.

According to Sky News, the attack involved a nine-year-old girl who succumbed to her injuries and died in hospital in the early hours of this morning, Tuesday, July 30.

The authorities also confirmed that the two children who died in the attack yesterday were also girls, aged six and seven.

"Eight other children suffered knife injuries during the attack and five of them remain in a critical condition. There are also two adults who were also in a serious condition, who were injured in the incident," they added.

It should be recalled that after the attack, a 17-year-old resident of Banks, although he was born in Cardiff, was arrested by the police on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

The identity of the attacker, as well as the reasons for the attack, have not yet been released.
