Jony Ive, who is widely considered to be responsible for the design of some of Apple's main products, spoke during an interview on the Life in Seven Songs podcast about the experience of working with Steve Jobs - the iconic co-founder of the 'Apple Company' who died in 2011.

Ive, who started working at Apple in 1992 at a time when Jobs was not at the company, says it was a "very difficult" time.

"Before Steve [Jobs] came back, I learned a lot, but at the time I didn't realize I was learning. It was just painful," noted Ive.

As for the work developed in collaboration with Jobs, Ive says that it was "the most joyful and extraordinary 15 years of my life". The designer noted that, under Jobs' leadership, it became clear what Apple was creating.

"[Jobs] was someone who almost without thinking - and seemingly without effort - could describe feelings and perceptions of very complex ideas and opportunities," Ive explained. "There isn't a day when I don't think about him or the loss. There isn't a day when I'm not grateful for the time we had together, for what I learned and what we discovered together."
