The WhatsApp verification seal for companies and official channels changed from green to blue, following an update released for the test version (WhatsApp Beta) of the messaging app on Android.
According to WABetaInfo, the change began to be tested on Friday and there are already reports of it.
The change, which had been thought about for some time, aligns the color of the WhatsApp verification seal with the visual pattern of Meta's other products, unifying the user experience across all platforms.
On Facebook and Instagram, remember, the check mark is already blue.
Despite the change in color, the authenticity seal continues to have the same function in the application. This way, the user is guaranteed that they are coming across the official account of a company or channel verified by the platform, reducing the risks of fake profiles.
The blue symbol may also be part of the new features of the Meta Verified program for WhatsApp, announced by Mark Zuckerberg last month. The improvements will be offered to companies in selected markets, improving customer service.
When will it be available to everyone?
For now, WhatsApp's new blue verification symbol is only available to users enrolled in the PlayStore testing program. The change appears in WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.24.14.18, an update that was recently created for download.
It is possible that not everyone who has the trial version will have access to the blue mark for commercial accounts and verified channels immediately, as highlighted by WABetaInfo, given that the new feature will be expanded little by little.
It is not yet known when it will be available in the web version or in the 'app' for iOS.
