Brazilian police have arrested a man suspected of acting as a fake football coach in order to abuse children at a social project school.
According to the police, the suspect used false documents to avoid being found by the agents investigating him. He was arrested in the centre of Rio de Janeiro, where he was currently working as a waiter.
The man is being investigated in other Civil Police enquiries for using the same modus operandi: infiltrating social projects to abuse children, using false identities.
According to the investigations, he first presented himself as a football referee and assistant coach in order to gain access to the children and teenagers in the project.
After gaining the trust of some of the minors, he would invite them to his house, where he would commit the abuse.
The police are investigating how many minors were abused and whether the man was part of a network that exchanged pornographic material involving children and teenagers.
