Carol Oliveira, a futsal player for Centro de Tijucas, died last Sunday after falling from approximately 22 floors at the Edifício Império do Sol in Balneário Camboriú. According to CNN Brasil, Carol Oliveira was distracted while recording a video with her brother, and ended up tripping and falling.
The Brazilian club reacted yesterday, Monday, to the player's death and expressed its "deep regret" and assured that she "will never be forgotten".
"Carol defended the colors of Centro in the Tijucas Municipal Women's Futsal Championship in 2024 and contributed greatly with her talent, drive and collective spirit. She will never be forgotten", reads the club's official statement.
