SpaceX managed to recover the Super Heavy booster, but the same cannot be said for the Starship. The explosion led to the diversion of some planes flying over the Caribbean region.
SpaceX carried out the seventh test flight of the Starship this Thursday, the 16th, and, despite having managed to recover the booster, the rocket ended up being destroyed shortly after the separation between the two parts.
The company led by Elon Musk confirmed that this rocket ended up being lost, with the explosion resulting in a fall of debris that - despite having contributed to eye-catching videos as we can see above - inspired some concern for the Federal Aviation Administration.
According to CNBC, the regulatory agency warned airplane pilots of “a dangerous area with falling debris from the Starship rocket”, leading to the diversion of the routes of aircraft flying over the Caribbean region.
