Two people were injured on Saturday after lightning struck a tree near a house located next to a golf course in Connecticut, which is hosting the PGA Tour's Travelers Championship.
According to the Associated Press, the two people were taken to hospital.
It was around 4.30pm (local time) that police recorded several calls about a lightning strike. When the first responders arrived at the scene, they found a tree that had been struck and three people standing near it.
Cromwell firefighters explained in a statement that two people were assisted and taken to hospital, giving no further details of their condition, and that a third person refused treatment.
