The Indonesian government has decided to ban the sale and use of iPhone 16 series cell phones and also the Apple Watch Series 10 in the country, said the Economic Times.

The publication claims that the decision stems from the fact that Apple has failed to make investment commitments in the country, with the company having previously mentioned that it would invest the equivalent of around 100 million euros in research and development facilities.

So far, Apple will have invested around 85 million euros, which led Indonesian Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita to block the certification granted to the iPhone 16 and the Apple Watch Series 10.

The only people allowed to use these two devices are tourists and airline crew, with the government asking the public to report cell phone and watch usage.
